CELASTRUS ORB DIANA
Grower Notes:
Celastrus orbiculatus 'Diana' is commonly referred to as Oriental Bittersweet Diana or Diana Bittersweet. It is a vigorous, fast growing, deciduous vine that needs both male and female plants in order to produce fruit. Medium green foliage appears in spring and turns yellow in fall. Female plants have attractive small yellow flowers that produce yellow fruit with bright orange-red seeds in October through December.
Diana Bittersweet is cold hardy and easy to grow. Due to its rampant growth, it is best to keep control over its spread. It thrives in full sun in average, evenly moist, well-drained soils. The fruits stay decorative for several months and make excellent dried flower arrangements.
